Biography
Rene Briede has more than 30 years experience in the restaurant/ hospitality industry in the United States and Canada, 23 of those years have been at the senior executive level building sales and developing upscale casual restaurants and retail companies in the North American market place.
Rene started his career in the restaurant business with Keg Restaurants in 1979 and soon became a partner. He was instrumental in bringing the Keg chain to the U.S. market. Rene won many awards with Keg Restaurants for top sales and cash flow increases in his region.
After spending fifteen successful years with the KEG Rene was recruited by the SpectraGroup of Restaurants to become the Director of Operations for the six unit Milestone's group of restaurants. Twelve years later Rene had grown the Brand to 23 restaurants eclipsing sales of 90m annually and operating in 3 markets across North America. Featured on the cover of the prominent British Columbia Restaurant News magazine for innovation and "pushing the edge" for casual upscale restaurants was one of Rene's most memorable moments.
Wanting to move back to the Pacific Northwest Rene took over the helm as President for Sugar Mountain Guest Services. Rene spent the following four years re-positioning one brand while opening two other brands with the highlight of winning many awards with Beecher's Handmade Cheese Company.
Most recently Rene embarked on his own path starting a food and beverage consulting company that leverages his 30 plus years of experience to guide other professionals to attaining sustainable performance, specifically focusing on ensuring the owner's vision is consistently executed at all levels, all the time & in all the units.
Rene's area of expertise include, opening casual upscale restaurants with high standards, growth in sales while ensuring shareholder returns. Developing high impact teams, conceptual development, menu creation, strategic planning and operational standards. Rene's passion and drive for the hospitality industry has rewarded him with the achievement of long standing successful brands.
